any info on childrens nursing??
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
Im starting an access course in sept in health and social science, so that i can go onto do a nursing or midwifery degree.
I need to know how it all works i understand i can do a direct midwifery 3yr course.
I was wondering if anyone can give me some info as to how i would go about working in a peadiatric unit.
Do I do my general nursing degree then specialise afterwards?
Can i specialise during my degree?
Do I even need to specialise?
I really have no clue and havent had much luck an the websites I've been on.
Any information will be much apprecited, and if anyone knows of any good websites where i can research can you let me know?

Thanx Confused

hi ive applied to swansea for paediatric nursing and waiting for interview.
im not sure if u can choose too specialize half way through but i know myself and friends at college have specialized straight away either as paeds midwifery or a lot tend to go for adult nursing. but i do know that u got to be sure and confident in whatever u choose cause they like that they dont like to hear not sure if i want to do midwifery or nursing so when applying for uni apply for the one course its ok to apply for different uni's but not courses hope its helped a bit but not really in there myself yet good luck too u anyway.
