It is very possible to work Travel and Per Diem at the same time. I work for an agency. Our travel nurses can pick up per diem shifts at other hospitals in the area.

The best part about the program, is that the nurses often times qualify for overtime with these hours. The draw back is that these programs are usually only offered in Major Metro areas where there is a significant shortage of nurses.

Some of the travel nurses I am working with are earning over $120,000+ per year because of the overtime.

So it is not only possible...it is extremely attractive.

I would highly recommend working a couple extra per diem shifts. It helped me pay off some credit cards!!
