USC vs UCLA
Hey ya'll,
Looking to do some travel nursing out in LA and was wondering if anyone knows anything about these hospitals..your help would be much appreciated. Looking to meet folks already out in LA or who have been and hear about experiences because im very nervous
USC vs. UCLA
Well, in my opinion, you should go with USC. UCLA will almost always hand you your arse on any given shift. Not sure what kind of pay you are being quoted, but if it is $40 an hour or more, prepare to work for it at UCLA. BUSY hospital with a lot of medical students, sub-intelligent residents that do not listen to the voice of experience and overall was an uncomfortable place for me to travel.
If you like fast-pace, frustrating 12-hour shift, then UCLA is the place for you. I used to be a $40 an hour traveller there, and I left for a $34 an hour travel position in Orange county which is far better. Not to mention, it takes you 1-2 hours to drive across the city for either of these locations, unless you want to live in the hood. (USC especially). UCLA is a little better commute depending on the facility youre at and where you take housing. I recommed one of the smaller UCLA hospitals, or none at all.
Bring good sneakers and a waist worn water bottle.
