California Board of Nursing
As an LPN in the Excelsior College program, I am concerned that the Board in CA is adamantly opposed to Excelsior grads obtaining licensure in their state. I agree that they are doing what they feel benefits those in California, but what gets under my skin is this:

They dont answer phone calls, emails, faxes and I doubt they would answer passenger pigeons either if they werent extinct. What I want to know is if they will take time on the job to suffice their clinical requirement. Does anyone know?

Dealing with this board is horrible. They took more than a year to process my LPN license. Is the RN branch equally slow? I would like to have my CA RN license once I graduate.

CA Nursing Board
Hi,
My experience with the CNB was very good. It is a walk-trough state which means I applied online and it was fast and I had no problems. I accepted a travel assigned in Oakland at Kaiser (which I wont go back, typical Kaiser hosp!) anyway, dont be discouraged about the board. I had no problems. I have been traveling over three years and its the only way to go. If ya need any other info about traveling or anything else, feel free to reply. Smile Have a great day and congrats on graduating Razz

Re: California Board of Nursing
i have my license in california..they didnt give me much of a hassle..i did have one small problem with them, but all was corrected...as for the excelsior program, california does not except that college now even though they use to at one time...you can however get your license in another state and then in time apply with california once again...i have a friend living outside of fresno and that is how she was able to obtain hers...good luck....
