traveling in nashville and new orleans
I have a choice of doing an assignment at children's hospital in new orleans or vanderbilt university in nashville. has anyone been to either place? i need some advice!! help!!
job in tennessee
The state is a lovely state. The hospital has a wonderful reputation. I have worked there but was some time ago...I would work there again. Hope this helps..Tennessee that is.....
Vanderbilt Hospital
I am from TN and know about Vandy Hospital. It is THE hospital in Nashville, very prestigous. It is a level 1 trauma center, it is a teaching facility, the collage is next door. There is something you might want to know the nurse/pt ratio. Days is 8:1 nights 13:1 keep this in mind when you travel there. TN also does not have any state taxes so it is cheaper to live there. Pay rates are lower for this same reason. Hope this helps you.
Vandy
I can't verify those staffing ratios, but as a former Vanderbilt LifeFlight Nurse, I can say that Vanderbilt, both the Med Center and the University are both the most amazing places in the universe. Besides the reputation of Vanderbilt, the profesionalism is enormous. Vanderbilt instills in you a feeling of pride that I have never known anywhere else. When I walked on to the property, even if I wasn't working that day, I felt a foot taller, no exageration. If you get the chance to work there, take it. Just my opinion.
nashville assignments
I am from franklin, TN which is 30 min from nashville. Nashville is a cool town and that is great your company has a contract for vanderbuilt. I sure hope it is not with intelistaf. If so, you are making a big mistake and you should turn around while you are ahead.
I am not telling you what to do, but I have had quite an experience with them.
just read my blog further down that is headed "intelistaf is worthless, liers, cheaters.
but back on the subject, I would highly recommened nashville. There are a lot of cool things to do and vandy is a good hospital.
a lot of people wind up settling down on the outskirts of nashville because it is such a nice place to live.
hope this helps.
