Something you might want to know...
I am a nurse in a hospital where I signed on for a year. After the year, I resigned, and have returned to travelling.
the hospital I worked at is unionized and has some interesting perks for the staff, but not the travelers! We have something called BMC pay, Below Minimum Core, which is time and a half if youor core staffing needs are not being met.
What I see Supervisors doing is taking a regular staff off my floor, leaving the traveler. I have advocated for the traveler, but with no avail.
Maybe when interviewing for the contract ask the questions that pertain to leaving you with less staff, high patient nurse ratio, unsafe and you work as hard or harder and not compensated for it.
