nursing in michigan
I wonder why you want an assignment in michigan. i worked there for 6 years as it is my home state. i worked at foote memorial hospital in jackson michigan which is near the irish hills and the michigan international speedway, so if racing is your thing that would be a good place to be. if hunting and fishing is your thing, there is a huge hospital group in grand rapids called spectrum health. i had an assignment there on acute ortho/trauma at butterworth hospital. it was a great staff and a good experience. you are only about 45 minutes to lake michigan and it is very beautiful, yet the city is the 2nd largest in michigan and has museums, opera, all the cultural things...of course it is a huge college town too. housing is reasonable, too. especially pretty in the fall!!!! i was raised in detroit area and there are too many hospitals to mention near there but i will brag on beaumont hospital in royal oak, michigan...i had 3 of my children there and it is a great metropolitan area too. if you like city life and " artsy " areas, royal oak is it! good luck in my home state. i love it there but i found the nurses definately enjoy eating there young if you give them the chance.

I too grew up in Michigan, but moved to NY after getting out of the Navy in 75. I have been a travel nurse now for almost 2 years and an RN for 20 years. I am interested in getting close to home to visit family and do an assignment there. Just wondering what travel assignments are out there and where they are. Only one I've heard about is in Petoskey. So any info on assignments in Mich would be greatly appreciated. Which companies have assignments where? Access Nurses and World Health are the two companies I am currently working with. So I know all about Michigan as a state, just want to know about assignments

HI I was contacted recently by MedStaff regarding a position in Fremont MI, didn't sound too back. That is on the western side of the state, about middle of the state. Have also heard of spots in Grand Rapids and Detroit/Ann Arbor area. (medstaff - Todd, tell him Carol Shaw sent ya)
