Nursing homes come up short - Just 2 of 16 area facilities


A new federal system designed to rank the quality of nursing homes shows that two-thirds of the 16 nursing homes in the tri-county area scored below average. The Medicare rating system gives people another way to gauge the places where their loved ones may live. Experts, however, said nothing should replace visiting a facility.
