Nursing or Medical Assisting
Hi. I am interested in a career in the medical field but I am not sure if I should go into Nursing or Medical Assisting. I have done alot of research on both and think they both have great opportunities. It is not about the money (even though that helps). I have always wanted a healthcare career but I am really torn between these two. I am started back at college (I am 27 by the way) in August and the school I will be attending offers both programs. I would appreciate some advice from nurses in the field and how they decided. Thank you for any responses.

Without a doubt do nursing. If time is of the essence do an LPN program in which you could work in a Drs office similar to what an MA would do but with more knowledge of the body. The true advantage of nursing over MA is opportunity for advancement and flexibility in job choices. MA's are far more limited in the practice settings.
