birth control HELP!
Confused Hello, i kno this site is about mostly nursing, and im in school not to become and LPN but, i need some help. I was recently put on Yasmin birth control, and i was told to start it on the first day i start my period, so i did, i started it on wed. Jan 18. Now since i didnt start it on a sunday, the book told me that its effective immediately because im starting it at the beginning of my period. but then i was told to wait about 6-7 days before it was safe to have unprotected sex with my boyfriend. so i did wait until tues. jan. 24th. and has continued to take the pill perfectly and still have unprotected sex. im wondering am i safe, or do i need to get Plan B right away?, i kno people say im supposed to wait a whole pill cycle, but i started the pill the same day i started my cycle.. PLEASE HELP!! ASAP!! im sooo Scared & CONFUSED!!!! could i be pregnant?[/b]

BIRTH CONTROL
Get off the pills and do condoms. You are putting your health at risk- raising your risk for cancers, dvt, etc. significantly. It is not worth it. If condoms are out of the questions, perhaps you should wait with unprotected sex till marriage. Being a professional Im sure you know better.

LOL, but condoms are great for preventing STDs, not pregnancy. If you're a professional, you should know that.

I'd say, if the manufacturer says your protected, then you are probably okay. It's too late to do a Plan B, if you've been having unprotected sex since the 24th of January; Plan B's need to be started within 24-48 hours of unprotected sex.

Take a deep breathe and relax. Call your OB/GYN and ask them for advice. And start using condoms. I don't know your situation, but if you aren't in a committed relationship, you should be using condoms anyway.
