Although it may seem like you are entirely alone, you aren't. Millions of people have went through what you are going through, and came out alright. The thing is, you will not be able to hear their advice on how to come through it alright, unless you talk to someone.

The good thing about speaking to a professional is that they know the paths to get you back in good shape.

There's nothing to be ashamed of in being depressed. Most of us have been severely depressed at some point.

Follow your mums advice and speak to someone. You'll eventually be happy you did. It's your life, you should be happy.

A very large percentage of our population suffers from depression. It's nothing to be ashamed of, Paris. Often a combination of counseling and medication can help us cope AND give us hope that life is not so bad that we need an out. I started having those feelings as a teen and did eventually get treatment. I now have the tools to deal with those dark thoughts when they invade my life. I am praying for you and hoping you heed our advice! God bless you.

Depression...
I take Paxil 40 mg. per day. It relieves my anxiety, tension, stress, and makes me able to function normally. I am still depressed, but I don't have the awful thoughts and anxiety as long as I am on it. It will take several weeks before any of the anti-depressants really start working. Start with a low-dose and work your way up as needed, that will reduce side-effects. I have been on it for four years.

Actually....I have talked to quite allot of people and most everyone I know has at one point or another tried to kill themselves...myself being one. Until you realize exactly why you want to, and see how lucky you are to be alive compared to people who WANT to live and can't, then you might not get over this struggle. Look into it, see why you are depressed. Professionals can be starchy..but some help. No one can help you but you....the support of your loved ones help YOU carry through. Don't let dark thoughts tell you what to do with yourself. People say live large, dream big, live life. But instead, just live. That is enough.
