Gov. Phil Bredesen wants Health Department officials to better explain a recent spike in enforcement measures against nursing homes. Bredesen told Health Commissioner Susan Cooper in budget hearings last week that he wants her inspectors to enforce the law, but that they need to make sure nursing homes are aware of what violations can lead to admissions being suspended.
