PROVIDENCE — Notorious nursing home operator Antonio L. Giordano and his longtime financial officer agreed to pay about $1.1 million in fines and restitution but avoided additional time behind bars when they pleaded no contest to embezzlement and conspiracy charges in state court yesterday.
