Army Nurse Killed in Baghdad (NPR)


All Things Considered , July 15, 2007 · Capt. Maria Ines Ortiz, 40, became the first Army nurse to die in the war in Iraq when she was killed Tuesday by mortar fire. She had been stationed in Baghdad's highly fortified Green Zone.
