State health-care cuts threaten long-term health of nursing


New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer, in his proposed Executive Budget, sought to reduce funding to nursing homes, eliminate programs to encourage people to work in health care, and erase initiatives that help staff improve the quality of care and life for nursing home residents.
