State may require public reports on hospital-borne infectio


Texas could be a heartbeat away from joining 14 other states that require hospitals to disclose hospital-borne infection rates. A bill filed by Rep. Dianne Delisi, Public Health Committee chairwoman, is one of several that would require hospitals to gather infection data and to air it publicly, allowing consumers to compare the results.
