Survey: Fewer N.Y. women are smoking

AP - Smoking has dropped sharply among the city's women since 2002, according to a survey released Monday by health officials. The number of female smokers over 18 dropped from 630,000 in 2002 to 507,000 in 2005, the last year for which numbers were available, according to the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Community Health Survey, a random telephone survey of 10,000 residents.
