UAB hires Velinda Block as chief nursing officer (Birmingha


UAB Hospital has hired Velinda Block as its head nurse. Block became chief nursing officer of the 908-bed hospital on Monday. She replaces Cynthia Barginere, who left in September to become vice president of patient care services at Baptist Health in Montgomery, which UAB Health System manages.
