Rowland, WWII nurse, dies at 87 (Houston Chronicle)


Margaret L. Jacobson Canney Rowland, a World War II battlefield nurse who later taught others to become nurses, died Jan. 14 in Houston. She was 87. A captain with the U.S. Air Force, Rowland was honored with the American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Medal and German Occupation Medal.
