Opening statements begin in manslaughter trial against form


Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Merrick said in his opening statements Monday that a former Robinson Township nursing home, Ronald Reagan Atrium I Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, provided inadequate care and was "woefully understaffed" the day 88-year-old patient Mabel Taylor was found dead on Oct. 26, 2001.
