any district nurses out there??
Hi Everyone
Im new to the forum and after some advice. I've been a theatre nurse for the last 6 years since I qualified but I really would love to work as a district nurse. Anyone know what criteria is required etc, Im currently an E grade. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers Lisa Smile

district nurse
Hi, Lisa

I too am looking for a post in the district, the jobs are out there but, as at the moment with all the health service it is constantly changing there is not an actual criteria as such i.e nursing practices- patient care its more about managing areas, budgets, clinical governace I wish you well.

Hi Lisa,

My name is Moira and I have been a community nurse for ten years, and am currently back at uni doing my degree in dustrict nursing.

In my experience, the best way to get nto community nursing is to apply for the bank initially, that way you are orientated to the area, and are then in the right place to apply for permanent posts.

Hope this helps

Good luck

Moira
