Helen Chentnik has died, more than two years after she was dumped in a nursing home and left virtually penniless, the victim of fraud and theft. Chentnik, 87, a U.S. Steel retiree and longtime Gary resident, suffered a heart attack and died at The Methodist Hospitals in Gary, her niece said.
