on call wages
So, myself and other nurses are curious to know the rate at which one is paid to be on call.....both the rate of at home, and when called in to work.
Is there guaranteed amount of hours once called in to work?
Curious in Cleveland where we are getting shafted once again.
Thanks for your input!
My hospital is paying $2 an hour on call. Unless you are in a more important position such as Cardiac Cath lab, which they have just increased up to $4. so anywhere from $2-$4 depending on the job.
That is in Virginia
My daughter is an IT specialist at our local hospital and she gets $2.00 an hour to be on call. If the call is over 15 minutes she gets PAID for half-hour. If she can get on the computer at home and trouble shoot, it's time and a half over 15 minutes. If she has to go in to show some nurse how to make the printer work, or how to print out a report,or reboot a system or reset a password. it's time and a half 2 hour mimimum......And she's not even a NURSE!!!! BTW without a college education(although she's smart,,, very very smart) she makes $2.00 an hour less than me. I only have a degree and have been nursing over 25 years!!!!!!She's barely over 25.
