Over the past few years, the number of outpatient surgeries performed at hospitals and other health care facilities in the Louisville area has climbed steadily. But the number of locations where those surgeries are performed have not, meaning patients who need outpatient procedures such as endoscopies or eye surgeries often must go to operating rooms on busy hospital campuses.
