Owners accused in 34 Katrina deaths The owners of St. Rita's nursing home, who are accused of negligent homicide after 34 patients died in Hurricane Katrina's floodwaters, are suing the government -- saying that federal state and local officials failed to make sure vulnerable citizens were evacuated as the storm approached.
