Study exposes chinks in Gulf Coast nursing homes' contingen


In addition to the New Orleans levees, Hurricane Katrina broke open the lacunae in the Gulf Coast nursing homes network. A US Department of Health and Human Services review of 20 nursing homes in the Gulf Coast in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, has put the spotlight on the poor contingency management of these homes.
