Hello, Nurses and help
Hi. My name is Savannah and I'm a writer, not a nurse.

So, what are you doing here?

Right.

Some of you may know about Nanowrimo -- some of you may even be participating. Nanowrimo is short for National Novel Writing Month. The challenge is to write 50,000 words in the month of November (roughly 175 pages single spaced).

My main character is a nurse (she's an RN in a hospital setting, but I haven't yet decided what kind of patients she works with -- what department she's in), but I know nothing about nursing. So I thought I would come here and familiarize myself with the profession.

So I was wondering if I could ask a few researchy type questions. These are just to broaden my understanding of nursing. I will not be using any information given to me as fodder for my story.

(If this is not allowed here, I apologize and please feel free to remove this post)

1. What's your favorite part about being a nurse?
2. How did you decide to become a nurse?
3. What kind of training/education do you have?
4. What's a typical day like as a nurse in a hospital? Does it depend on who your patients are?

Thank you in advance for any information you can offer!

Savannah
