convictions..please give your input...I want to be a nurse
hello everyone..i am a 41yr old woman and have a felony from 1989 for overpayments from welfare recorded as "welfare fraud"..its a long story but it still happened, so im not going to try to justify it..i went back to court in 1999 and got it reduced to a misdameanor and all money was paid back prior to that..also have a DUI from 1999...and since then do not drink at all...i really want to become a LVN or RN but i am worried that these convictions will make it so that i can not be licensed..i have been on SSI for the past 7 years..BUT i have hope now in having a scs spine stimulator inplaced in my back so that i can go back to work and get off the meds..i am so eager to go back to work but i promised myself that i would not go back to work unless it could be in the hospital..working closely in the ER or surgery related..so im assuming i need to be a LVN or RN...i am so excited to go to school to start my new career but afraid that my past will haunt me and not let me get licensed..can someone help me or give me info and opinions..i am desperate and dont know what to do..ALL opinions and input wil be greatly appreciated...
