Ear Syringing
Hi Everyone,
I just wondered if anyone out there could help me? Im a final year design student and for my final year I must create a product. I really want to do something that will help nurses.
My mother is an audiologist and often has clients tell her that when they had their ears syringed it was uncomfortable. I want to create a product that will help nurses when there syringing even if its only giving them more confidence when performing syringing. My idea so far is to create a headlight with magnification which will allow a nurse to clearly view the outer ear canal when syringing the ears. I know theres things like this out there already except I want to make sure the light shines exactly into the ear and not at the general ear area as most do and also that there is varying levels of magnification. It will be lightweight and very cheap to buy. This device could be used in other areas of nursing such as inserting catheters etc.
What do you think of this idea and would it help you? What do you find difficult when syringing ears and is there anything that you wish was around that could help?
Thank you all so much for reading this post and if you have any feed back or ideas at all I would be so grateful. xxx
