Inmate Shoots Guard, Flees Hospital (Los Angeles Times)


HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- A hospitalized inmate grabbed a corrections officer's gun and shot him early Thursday, then ran from the hospital and carjacked a taxi before crashing about five miles away, police said.
