how many of you have ever used electronic patient chart?
Hi, I got there questiones as following:
1。How many of you have ever used electronic patient chart in your work?
2. Do you nurses have a lot of paperwork to do in your work?
3. How do you communicate with doctor? How do you know there is a new prescription from doctor? f
Thanks a lot~
electronic records
I have used them is a couple of settings. They work differently in each place. The physician orders do get posted. The problem comes in when there is a combination of paper documentation and electronic documentation. From what I have seen, electronic does not save much time for the nurse, even after the nurses learn the system. It does save space and expense in storage of paper files. It is also helpful for several health care team members to be able to read the patient's chart from remote locations. Regarding your question about paperwork, paperwork is one of those things that are essential. Unfortunately, most systems have redundancy, where a nurse is writing (or entering into the computer) things two or three times. I would love for that redundancy to be reduced, but it does not seem to happen.

I have used the EMR system for yrs and I love it you don't have to hunt down a paper chart you just punch it on the computer and you have depends one the system you takes you a little time to get use to it but once you start with it you will never want a paper chart again
