Nursing Refresher course

I'm new to the forum, but I wanted to tell my sister nurse I am in the same situation. I am still active in nursing but because I don't work in a hospital setting I shy away from jobs I feel I'm not up to speed with, I too would like to have a refresher course, I know some jobs offer them as a part of their orientation program

Refresher course requirements vary by state and then each program varies. In our state the requirements are listed under the Temporary permit application which you need for Refresher clinicals. Contact your state BON first. Don't be discouraged it is worth the effort. Call around to your local nursing programs and universities for recommendations of programs. I took one years ago and it really helped me. It was in a classroom with other nurse refreshers for parts of it, there was a take home part, and then skills labs, and clincials. It took me about 4-5 weeks to complete. I think they are still around. I am not sure of what state you are in but, they are in Texas. I don't still have the number but the name is Professional Healthcare Education Services. You can do it. I really enjoyed the clinicals and that is how I found out about infusion care which is what I do now.
