re entry nursing student have Q,can someone help please help
Can anyone answer these multiple choice Q's for me as I can't find answer?javascript:emoticon('Sad')
1.The nurse is aware that burning, intermittent pain in the RUQ may be referred from the _______, therefore other organ involvement must be ruled out.

a) Kidneys, b) appendix, c) pancreas, d) small intestine

I think it is small intestine? or maybe pancreas, most info I found says LLQ for pancreas but just found one article that says RUQ??????

2. which of the following is a reason for a nurse to carry out a neurological assessment on Mark (case study, serious head injury after car falling on him)

a) to determine whether he has a neurological problem
b) to find the site of a central nervous system problem
c) to establish a diagnosis
d) to determine a course of treatment
e) None of the above

I think it is all of the above but think I have to choose one only. Exclamation [/b]

I think the answer to #1 is b. - appendix, although this (http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/appendicitis/#2) source says that appendix pain is more likely RLQ.

I definitely think the answer to #2 is answer a. - determine whether the patient has a neurological problem. I don't like the way any of the answers are worded but it is necessary to do a neuro assessment on a head trauma patient basically to see if there are any issues with the patient's neurological status. As a nurse, you are not allowed to diagnose and I think even B.) sounds a little bit out of the scope of nursing assessment and judgement. In that same vein, nurses don't make up the course of treatment either. A nurse can certainly offer her input to the attending MD, but it is the nurse's job to follow orders, not make them. Hope this helps!
