Davidson briefs: 96 residents evacuated during fire at nurs


Ninety-six nursing home residents were evacuated this morning after an elevator motor caught fire in an elevator shaft, fire officials said. Nobody was injured during the 10 a.m. fire at Cornelia House nursing home, 701 Porter Road, Deputy Chief Kim Lawson said.
