Three Utah hospitals have been recognized for excellence by the country's largest nursing group. LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Cottonwood Hospital in Murray and Alta View Hospital in Sandy all earned the highest designation, called "magnet," from the American Nurses Association. Of the nation's 6,000 hospitals, fewer than 175 - 3 percent - have attained magnet status.
