xFamily.org Search
The search engine for the wiki has been improved. It is now using Lucene-search.

mnoGoSearch is also being used to to index our archive of documents at http://archive.xfamily.org/

It has been configured to index many types of documents including PDF and Word documents. I did try using nutch at first but I had a lot of difficulty getting it set up and when I did, everything was very slow and mnoGoSearch turned out be much faster and very easy to set up.

Other xFamily.org sites such as the PubsDB, this forum and the image gallery have their own built-in search engines but you can also search them using Google or your preferred search engine. http://search.xfamily.org/ includes a Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) for all sites in the xFamily.org domain. Eventually I may add a CSE for all sites about or related to the Family/Children of God cult. I am also considering using the Internet Archive crawler, Heritrix, and other tools to both index and permanently archive different versions of selected sites.
