Trauma Nursing
Okay, I have been nursing 10 years, 5+ in Emergency. I really need some experience at a trauma hospital, but none of them will sign on a traveler with no experience.....which I understand. Any suggestions for me, besides just biting the bullet and signing on as a staff member somewhere for about a year at a trauma center?
Perhaps, if you've no trauma experience, a rural regional medical center with a level three trauma designation will give you some experience, and being rural they will get severe trauma patients for stabilization before being transported to another facility. I started my nursing career at just such a facility.
